10U Program
The 10U program was developed to continue player development in a fun yet competitive environment. After the completion of the regular season an invitational post season tournament is played with the top teams receiving trophies. The winner of the post season tournament is eligible to move on to the area tournament in December. Players in division are ages 8 or 9 by the end of the year.
Season Length | The fall season runs from August through November, followed by a post-season invitational tournament. Regional champion continues season till Area playoffs in December. Spring season is February through May. |
Time Commitment | Practice approximately 60 minutes once or twice a week (depending on the coach's schedule). Games are played on Saturday. The game consists of two 25-minute halves. |
Equipment | Each player will be given a uniform which consists of a jersey, shorts, and socks. The player must provide soccer cleats and shin guards. Size 4 ball is optional. |
Certification Required | All volunteers must be registered AYSO Volunteers, and all coaches must be Safe Haven and Safe Sport certified.

Game Format | The game is played 7 vs. 7, under a modified FIFA rule system. Minimum of 5 players per team required to start or continue a game. The game is played in 2 25-minute halves, with substitutions/breaks halfway through each half. Halftime breaks are 3-5 minutes. Teams switch sides after halftime. |
Team Draft | The teams are formed via a draft. The player ratings are provided to all coaches prior to the draft. Region 5 allows 9 players per team. |
Game Play Extras | Goals may be scored from a kickoff. Players are introduced to the build-out line (also the point from where offside can begin). Certified referees officiate the game. Yellow cards may be issued; red cards are extremely rare. Bad throw-ins are enforced and awarded to the opposing team. Penalty kicks and offside infractions are called. Goalies not allowed to drop kick/punt the ball. Intentional headers are not allowed and result in an indirect kick to the other team. |
