AYSO REGION 5 ALL-STARS

The All-Stars program provides players with demonstrated outstanding soccer ability, enthusiasm, and good sportsmanship an opportunity to participate on a team and compete against teams composed of players with similar qualifications from AYSO Section 11, Area K (Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley). The programs are carried out in January and February of each year.

Players are considered for All-Stars and nominated by coaches to participate in tryouts. There are 2 tryout dates and a committee helps to oversee and evaluate the players. A committee consisting of the Division Coordinator, Coach Administrator, Regional Commissioner, and All-Star Coach (and Assistant Coach) will select the players for the All-Star team.

Selected players and parents are asked to take into consideration if they will be available during the first and second weekends of January to participate in the Hi5 and Area K All-Star tournaments. Failure to participate in team practices and these tournaments may result in the player being removed from the team.

Coaches

All-Star coaches are selected before the Core Fall season ends. Coaches interested in being the All-Star coach will be considered by the Division Coordinator and may be selected by a committee consisting of the Regional Commissioner, Coach Administrator, and Division Coordinators.  Coaches will be selected for a particular team based on a combination of the following criteria:

• Ability to follow the six AYSO Principles
• Experience
• Coaching ability/skill
